Silchester Roman City Walls & Amphitheatre

The walls and amphitheater of the Roman city of Silchester is an important archaeological site characterized by the walls of a Roman city and an abandoned amphitheater dating back to the seventh century. This city was in the Iron Age a tribal center, and unlike most Roman cities it was not reoccupied or rebuilt after its abandonment in the fifth century.
