The walls and amphitheater of the Roman city of Silchester is an important archaeological site characterized by the walls of a Roman city and an abandoned amphitheater dating back to the seventh century. This city was in the Iron Age a tribal center, and unlike most Roman cities it was not reoccupied or rebuilt after its abandonment in the fifth century. Antiquities, including pottery and metalwork, in addition to the remains of animals and plants.
