Spanish Steps
These stairs are located in a large square in the middle of which is the old boat roundabout. It symbolizes the sinking of ancient Rome when the Tiber River overflowed and washed away the boat here. It is a wide stairway linking the Espana Roundabout and Trinidad Monti Square, and a meeting place for tourists and locals who go to Rome. On the southern side of the roundabout is the statue of King David and the Prophet Moses, and to the southeast of the Spanish stairs, we find the Trevi Fountain, which is full of statues. It is also known as the Fountain of Fortune or the Fountain of Wishes, where a tourist or visitor throws a coin and makes a wish, believing in him or hoping that it will be fulfilled. Hundreds of pedestrians pass through the Spanish Steps every day, and some take it as a place to rest from walking, while others find tourists or students sitting on it to spend some fun time, surrounded by hotels, restaurants and ancient buildings.
