Description of the place
The Sri Mahamariamman Temple, built in 1833 AD, is the oldest Hindu temple on the island of Penang. It is located in the stunning Little India region. It was dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Subramaniam, and is characterized by its containing a group of colorful statues of deities, and its facade is decorated with shiny diamonds and stones. Karimah, which is a typical example of Hindu architecture built in the south Indian Dravidian style.
