SS Thistlegorm
For many professional divers, a trip to Sharm El Sheikh means only one thing: a dive to discover the Zestel Gorm sunken at the bottom of the Red Sea. One of the world's largest shipwreck sites, this ship was packed with cargo to resupply British forces during World War II. It was sunk by German bombers, and the fish now travels through its laps and cargo hold filled with jeeps, motorcycles and weapons that never made it to their original destination. The wreck is located in the Strait of Jubal off the western coast of the Sinai Peninsula, so it is visited on a day boat trip. One from Sharm El-Sheikh.
