Description of the place
The Church of St. Mary and St. Mellor dates back to the year 979 AD. It was built on the site of a former monastery. It was dedicated to the Benedictine nuns who brought with them the veneration of St. Mellor and St. Brittany, hence the name and dedication to St. Mary and St. Mellor. It is also distinguished by its southern aisle and some glass pieces from the centuries. Central and its impressive architectural character.
