St. Matthew's Church
The Franciscans in 1292 - who arrived in Colmar before 1250 - began the construction of a building that only finished during the first half of the fourteenth century, the Church of St. Matthew. Thanks to the wonderful sound of the church, concerts from the International Music Festival in Colmar are held there every year; It is worth noting that in 1715 a wall was built to separate the Protestant church in the nave on the one hand and the Catholic church in the choir on the other side, and after the construction of the new Pasteur Hospital in 1937, the church was fully reserved again for Protestant worship and in 1987 the wall was destroyed.
