St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral
The Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula is located on Treurenberg Hill. The presence of a church on this site dates back to the beginning of the eleventh century AD. In 1047 AD, Lambert II, Duke of Brabant, was carrying the relics of St. Gudula to this site. The original St. Gudula's Church was built in a Romanesque style; However, its renovation in the thirteenth century gave rise to the Gothic style. Glimpses of the 11th-century church can be seen in areas of the church's interior decoration.
