St. Michael Fort

St. Michael's Fortress and Castle dates back to the thirteenth century on Oglian Island in the city of Zadar. It is located at the highest point of the island, about 265 meters above sea level, which enables you to easily see it from any area of the city. Although the fort today is in a ruined state due to wars and invasions that left little of it, the castle surrounding it has remained steadfast to this day. You will read in the ruins of the fort an entire history, and you will witness wars, victories, and the courage of the fighters, and you will also witness traces of suffering and pain that will remain engraved in these walls forever.
