St. Peter's Anglican Church was built in 1848. Its special thing is the stained glass windows. The church was built of local timber in the Gothic Revival style. This large wooden church is a landmark in the inner city of Wellington. It is visited by thousands of visitors annually, and the church is famous for its two huge bells at the top of the tower, where you can see them from the outside, and inside there are 8 other bells.
