Description of the place
Northwest of the Elisabeth Bridge in Budapest is the statue of Elisabeth, Queen of Hungary and Empress of Heisburg, the wife of Franz Joseph. Elisabeth was much loved by the Hungarians because, among other things, she learned to speak Hungarian; She was assassinated by a mentally ill Italian anarchist in Geneva in 1898.
