Sunnpau Show Mine

The history of mining in the city of St. Johann dates back more than 4000 years, and in the Museum of the Mine, historical facts and evidence about this ancient history are presented, starting from the prehistoric beginnings with stone hammers and wooden stakes used to set fire, to the mining of ores with iron hammers and chisels in the Middle Ages and the use of Gun powder and dynamite in the 19th century, which makes the Sunbau mine one of the oldest in Salzburg.
