Description of the place
The Natural History Museum was opened in 1968 by the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration on the orders of Kemal Atatürk. It is located inside the building of the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration. The museum covers an area of 4,000 square meters and includes 5 sections. The first floor contains examples of plants and animals that lived and still live in Turkey. There are approximately 6,400 kinds of fossil materials.
