The Tamarindo Wildlife Sanctuary and Shelter was established in 1990 AD, in order to preserve and protect the magnificent mangrove forests that extend over an area of 953 acres, which enjoy a variety of wildlife, channels and water ponds suitable for riding kayaks and canoes, and it is considered a home to crocodiles, monkeys, songbirds and migratory birds.
