Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque
The Tanjung Bunga Floating Mosque is known as the Penang Floating Mosque, as it appears to float above the water at high tide. It is famous for its modern design with Moorish motifs, towering seven-storey minarets, and a stunning panoramic view of the sea, with pillars and stilts supporting its majestic structure above the water. The mosque is located along Tanjung Beach Bunga, built in 2004 in an attempt to replace an old mosque that was damaged in the major tsunami, covers an area of 1,295 square metres, and can accommodate up to 1,500 people during prayer times.
