Temple of Jupiter
It is a Roman temple dedicated to the king of the Roman gods and the god of the sky and lightning, "Jupiter". The temple is located in the ancient city of Baalbek, on the western slope of the East Lebanon Mountains. It is part of the Baalbek religious complex consisting of three edifices. The temple consists of six columns, each 22 meters long. The temple is surrounded by a wide open courtyard filled with statues and stone carvings from ancient Roman remains, including 30 granite columns.
