Tham Luang Nang Non

There are a number of caves in the Doi Nang Non mountain range, the largest and most famous of which is Luang Nang Non Cave. It is called the Great Cave of the Sleeping Lady. It is a semi-dry limestone cave, more than 10 kilometers long, and includes many deep cavities, narrow passages and winding tunnels under Hundreds of meters of limestone, there are many interesting stalactites and stalagmites in some parts of the cave. The cave became famous in 2018, when it was the site of a massive rescue of twelve boys, aged between 11 and 16, all members of a local junior football team and their 25-year-old assistant coach, who were trapped in the cave for 18 days by floodwaters. without their exit.
