The Amiriya School, the House of Culture, or the First Hofuf School is considered one of the oldest public schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was established in the Al-Ahsa region on a large area of about 1200 m. And it was inaugurated on the 11th of Muharram 1360 AH under the auspices of the Emir of Al-Ahsa, Prince Saud bin Jalawi, and it was established at the beginning as a primary school, then the building was later included in the two stages: intermediate and secondary. The first batch of 70 students graduated from the school in 1362 AH. King Abdulaziz Al Saud visited it in the year 1931 AD and was impressed with it, so he ordered his son, Prince Faisal, to open the school, so that the school would become the starting point for education in the eastern region. Today, the school has become the headquarters of the Saudi Society for Urban Sciences branch in Al-Ahsa. It has been rehabilitated as a headquarters for the association and a civilized center in Hofuf, to also include a museum and the history of education, an exhibition arena, a hall, a training center, and a women's section.
