The Staircase of the King of Aragon is a stone staircase carved into the side of a cliff in the municipality of Bonifacio in Corsica; According to legend, the staircase was dug by the forces of King Alfonso V of Aragon during a single night during the siege of Bonifacio in 1420, and in another account it is believed to have been dug by Franciscan friars long before Alfonso V's troops set foot on Bonifacio; The stairs descend to a spring and a cave, so you can walk up the stairs and stroll along the sea to enjoy the scenic atmosphere of nature.
