Theban Necropolis

The Thebes Necropolis or Tomb of Thebes is an ancient necropolis covering a vast area on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor in Upper Egypt, and the area is undoubtedly one of the most popular tourist attractions in Egypt. Thebes, the city of the god Amun, was the capital of Egypt during the Middle and New Kingdoms period, and includes temples, palaces and a number of important archaeological sites.
