One of the most beautiful and natural wonders of Madurai is the Thiruparankundram rock cave temple, which according to legend dates back to the 18th century. India is characterized by having a number of rock-cut temples, but this temple has another description, as it is the smallest and includes statues and artifacts belonging to the god Shiva and his wife Parvati, and the cave contains one hall in which ceremonies and religious rituals are held. In view of the ancient history of the temple and its historical importance, it is subject to the supervision of the Indian Archaeological Examination Authority.
