Description of the place
Titchfield Abbey was built for the first time in the thirteenth century, and was home to a group of priests, and turned into a country palace after the Dissolution of the Monasteries by King Henry VIII, who granted it to the Earl of Southampton Thomas Wriothesley, and one of its distinctive features is the gatehouse with towers The large one that was built across the nave.
