The Jar Shrine is an ancient building dating back to the Nabatean civilization in Jordan, specifically the first half of the first century AD. This majestic landmark is located in the ancient city of Petra, opposite the Nabatean Amphitheatre. This building was in the Nabataean period a royal cemetery dug in the heart of the mountain, but it was turned into a church in the Byzantine period. Jordan has built a group of vaults and arches to facilitate access to this shrine. The road leading to it has also been converted to be from the bottom of the adjacent mountain, after the process of accessing it was carried out from above.
