Valley of the Kings
Valley of the Kings
Luxor's western bank was the site of a royal burial in 2100 BC, but the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (1550-1069 BC) chose this secluded valley (Valley of the Kings) dominated by Jebel Qurna. The valley was called the Great Cemetery of Millions of Years of Pharaohs, or the Place of Truth, and features 63 impressive royal tombs. This valley is full of walls with enchanting inscriptions, and as for the treasures that were discovered inside the tombs, they are displayed inside the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It is a wonderful place that is very suitable for learning about the ancient Egyptian and Pharaonic civilization. Do not hesitate and visit it with your family and friends and enjoy spending an enjoyable and unforgettable time.
