Valley of the Queens
In this shallow valley and within the gates of this stunning archaeological site are buried the wives of the pharaohs, early princesses and some nobles. The main valley contains 91 graves, and the secondary valleys add another 19 graves. The first tomb in the area dates back to the period of Pharaoh Thutse I, and it is the tomb of Princess Ahmose. Tombs dating back to this period also include the tombs of some nobles, including the head of the stables and a minister. And visitors to the valley will now have the opportunity to explore the pharaonic history full of events, as they will find during their wandering in the area pharaonic drawings, statues, writings, huge gates and much more. The tomb of Queen Nefertiti is the most famous tomb in the region.
