Description of the place
Khan al-Wazir is located near the northeastern corner of the Great Mosque. It was built in 1724 by the Grand Vizier, Damad Ibrahim Pasha al-Noshahri. This khan is a building made of cut stone. It consists of two floors and two courtyards. There is a fountain in the middle. Today, 12 of 154 business premises are active around the central courtyard, selling many high-quality local products such as jewellery, textiles, fabrics and more.
