Description of the place
The Basilica of Virgen de los Desamparados, built in the 17th century, is a distinctive historical and architectural landmark in the charming city of Valencia. It is famous for its stunning Baroque architecture, which is characterized by a blue tile dome and wonderful frescoes by the famous painter Palomino. It was dedicated to the patron saint of the city. It is the only church in the old town that was not built on the site of a former parish church or monastery.
