Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, formerly known as Villa Vizcaya, is the villa and former estate of businessman James Deering. Located in Biscayne Bay in present-day Miami, this early 20th century Vizcaya estate also includes: Extensive Italian Renaissance gardens landscaped with native woods and a complex of Historic Village buildings. The landscape and architecture are influenced by the Italian Renaissance models of the Veneto and Tuscany and designed in the Mediterranean style of architecture with Baroque elements. As for the museum, it contains more than seventy rooms of distinctive architectural designs and decorated with many antiques, with a focus on European decor and furnishings from the fifteenth century until the early nineteenth century.
