Wadi Hitan National Park

The Wadi Al-Hitan Reserve, located near the city of Fayoum, in the Western Desert of the region, is a natural valley that is considered an open-air museum, where there are some rare giant fossils and skeletons of whales and sharks, dating back nearly 40 million years, when The area was submerged in water, and the site was declared a natural reserve, due to its historical importance, and its inclusion in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List.
