Wat Mahathat is a Buddhist temple in the heart of the Thai city of Ayutharia and one of the most iconic sites in Thailand, featuring a collection of stunning relics that include Buddha's head entwined with tree roots, the gravity-defying leaning ruins of centuries-old stupas, and the only surviving Buddha who is considered one of The main ruins are in the royal vihara (worship hall), as well as several headless Buddhas around the gallery of the royal vihara.
