Description of the place
Wat Tong Pong was built around 1876, and it was originally located in Shan State in Burma, but it moved to Mae Hong Son when the Thai community became strong. The temple was built initially using stretched banana leaves, and it was gradually renovated after that. The Golden Sacred Buddha, which reflects traditional Thai art and style of the Tai Yai region.
