Waverley Abbey
Waverley Abbey is the first Cistercian monastery in England and dates back to 1128. It was founded by William Giffard, Bishop of Winchester, and is located 3 km southeast of Farnham in the county of Surrey. It is also surrounded by the channels of the Wy River, and was damaged more than once by floods. It was severe, which led to its rebuilding in the thirteenth century, and includes the remains of archaeological vaults, columns, and walls, and is used as a location for filming films.
