Gobekli Tepe – Göbekli Tepe is an archaeological site on a high hill in the southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey, about 12 km northeast of the city of Sanliurfa. Birecik Dam – The Bersik Dam – one of the 21 dams of the Southeastern Anatolia Project – is located in Turkey on the Euphrates River, 60 km south of the Ataturk Dam, 8 km north of the town of Bersik and 80 km west of Sanliurfa Province. Its purpose was irrigation and energy production. The dam includes the hydroelectric power station, which was established in 2001.
