National Museum – The Saudi National Museum is a huge national museum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Opened in 1999, it is located in the eastern part of the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh. Designed by architect Raymond Moriyama, the design idea came from the colors and shapes of the red sand dunes outside Riyadh. The western facade of the museum represents the smooth surroundings of the dunes, with the outer borders forming a crescent pointing to Mecca.
