The town of Anfeh is located on the coast of the Koura district in the North Lebanese governorate, and is bordered to the west by the Mediterranean Sea. Its height is about 100 meters above sea level, and its population ranges between six and seven thousand people. As for the origin of the name, it comes from “the nose”, in relation to the head of the Anfeh castle, which enters the sea in the form of a long nose. The town is distinguished by its geographical location and natural topography, especially the three sea capes. It is the head of the concierge, the archaeological head of the castle, and the head of the Malaleh, as well as the bays and natural anchorages for boats. The town of Anfeh gained its fame due to its geographical location as a peninsula on a rocky shore steeped in history. Through the ages, it constituted a strategic station for the settlement of peoples and an attractive point for invaders and passers-by. Anfeh knew all the historical stages that left their traces on hills, beaches, caves, temples, corridors, mills, passages and trenches all dug in the rocks. Which made his nose stand out.
