Aladzha Monastery – The Aladzha Monastery is a medieval cave monastery located on the outskirts of Varna. It was inhabited by monks during the thirteenth to fourteenth centuries. In 1927 the monastery was declared a historical monument, and in 1968 it was declared an architectural monument of national importance. The monastery caves are carved on two levels into a large limestone rock about 40 meters high.
