Description of the place
The southern part of Bu Maher Fort is still standing today, as this castle was used for defensive purposes related to protecting the island from attacks by pirates targeting the pearl trade in Muharraq. Over time, parts of the castle were destroyed and its uses varied, sometimes associated with seeing off divers and other times with ceremonial seasons and cultural events.
