Al-Bithnah Fort

Outside Fujairah City and 13 km along the main highway, Bithnah Fort lies on the strategic roads that cross the Hajar Mountains through Wadi Ham. Built in 1735, the fort was of vital importance to the defense of the eastern region of the United Arab Emirates. The fort's massive frame of thick golden stone walls, flanked by a circular watchtower, makes for photo ops, while the views from the ramparts over the nearby palm groves and mountains are stunning.
