Description of the place
As the only cave in the Arabian Peninsula open to visitors, the two-million-year-old Al Hoota Cave offers travelers an incomparable experience. Inside the cave there is a wonderful ecosystem consisting of different rare biological species, making this natural wonder a symbol of Omani beauty. The cave is about 5 km long and was first discovered by local residents several hundred years ago, and was officially opened as a tourist destination in December 2006.
