Al Khor Mosque
Al Khor Mosque is one of the oldest and most beautiful mosques in Oman. It was previously known as the Al Shuhada Mosque, because dozens of funeral prayers were held in this mosque for the Omanis who died expelling the Portuguese when they tried to invade Oman between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Al-Khor Mosque is located directly next to Al-Alam Palace from the sea side of it, and it is called Al-Khor Mosque because of the internal water gaps resulting from the tidal waves that collide with the rocky coast in Muscat.
