Al Khyiamia (Tent Makers Bazaar)

Behind the southern walls of Fatimid Cairo and directly across the street from Bab Zuweila stands a unique place in modern Cairo, the Khayameya Market, an alley covered with a high ceiling and lined with stalls where merchants in Cairo have been selling their wares for centuries, and here you can Carpets, colorful tapestries, quilted cushion covers and wall hangings can be found, but the souk takes its name from the tent makers who offer tapestries made of colorful cloth decorated with traditional Islamic designs reminiscent of the inlaid marble that adorns mosques.
