Alaeddine Mosque
At the top of the hill is the Alaeddin Mosque, built in the 13th century. It was built as a pillared mosque according to an Arabic design, with a wooden roof supported by 42 antique columns. A garden was built next to it on the site of the former Konya Castle, located right in the city center, and is where Konya people come to take evening strolls and tea in the gardens. At the foot of the slope up the hill are the excavation site of Alaeddin Kaikobad's palace and the remains of the ancient city wall.
