Description of the place
Altamura is an important ancient town located in the heart of the Puglia region in southeastern Italy, and it was established as a settlement since ancient times, until it was surrounded by rock walls built in the fifth and third centuries BC, parts of which are still visible in the road called “Corso Umberto I.” It also has many archaeological monuments, especially its famous cathedral and the Museum of Archeology.
