Anchiskhati Basilica
In the old town, there is the ancient Anchiskati Church, which was built during the reign of Dacha Udzharmeli, successor of Vakhtang Gorgasali, in the 4th century. The beautiful rectangular building of the church was built under the influence of ancient Palestinian architecture, and the doors of the church are decorated with a traditional Georgian cross similar to that made by St. Nino. On the west facade of the church, there is a stone medallion with a cross dating back to antiquity. The upper parts and the arches were rebuilt in the 17th and 19th centuries.
