Antico Lavatio is a fountain and a public wash basin in Bergamo that was built in the Middle Ages in 1891 AD. It was used during the period of epidemics and diseases by the servants of noble families. It remained in operation until the middle of the twentieth century and has retained its elegant design and shape until today. It consists of a luxurious marble basin divided into two parts with an artistic iron ceiling bearing the date of construction above it. Today it has become one of the symbols of the upper city and one of its famous tourist attractions.
