Arad Fort
Arad Fort is one of the historical defensive fortifications in Bahrain. Its founding dates back to the fifteenth century. It was built in the typical Islamic style by order of Imam Sultan bin Saif al-Yarubi. It is a square-shaped castle that includes a cylindrical tower and is surrounded by a small moat. The fort enjoys an important strategic location, as it overlooks the shores of the shallow seas in Muharraq. Today, the fort and its surroundings have been integrated with Muharraq Island.
