The Archaeological Museum is located in the Casa de Castril, which is originally a palace dating back to the sixteenth century, built in 1539 by the heirs of Hernando de Zafra, secretary of the Catholic Monarchs, and its distinctive façade in the Spanish plateau style is the work of Sebastian de Alcantara. The museum was established in this palace in 1879, to become one of the first archaeological museums in Spain, and it includes artifacts dating back to very ancient times, and through it you can learn a lot about the history of Spain and human civilization as a whole.
