The Arches Fountain is a large water sculpture in the gardens of the Royal Opera House in Muscat. It consists of interlocking polished columns made of stainless steel and connected to each other by flowing water that emerges from their inner surfaces. The fountain is 12 meters high above an oval basin with a width of 60 meters. Water is pumped in programmed sequences from 77 pumps to create the effects that Giles Rayner painted on his first visit to Oman in 2014.
