Armenian Quarter
Armenian Patriarchal Road runs south from the Citadel and is the main street in the small Armenian quarter of the Old City. Within the narrow lanes here are St. James's Cathedral and St. Mark's Basilica, which receive far fewer visitors than the Old Town. Armenians have been part of Jerusalem's community for centuries, first arriving in the city during the 5th century. This is the quietest corner of the old city to explore and is a good place to walk around, walk around and learn about the features of this neighborhood and its ancient history.
