Arrabida Bridge
The Arrábida Bridge is a symbol of the city of Porto, and it was designed by Edgar Cardoso with the aim of “fulfilling the need to connect roads from Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia.” Its unique construction and exquisite architecture have led to it being considered a “masterpiece” and a prominent landmark in the city. It was also designated a National Monument in 2013 on its fiftieth anniversary, which led to its recognition at the international level. Until 1963, the Arrábida Bridge was the largest concrete arch in the world.
