Banasura Sagar Dam

The Vanasura Sagar Dam is a sand dam established in 1979, established to support the Indian hydroelectric project and to meet the demand for irrigation and drinking water in the region. It is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia. There is a group of small islands in the dam's reservoir that were formed when the waters of the reservoir flooded the surrounding areas. Visitors come to the dam to enjoy the scenic views and to relax in the lap of nature.
